New Office Wing and AV Modernization at Willy Naessens Industriebouw
Willy Naessens Industriebouw, renowned for its expertise in industrial buildings, halls, and offices, has added a new wing to its headquarters. This expansion presented the perfect opportunity to unify and modernize the audiovisual (AV) systems throughout the entire office.
The existing wing received an audio upgrade, the Atrium was equipped with smart controls, and the new wing was fitted with invisible audio in the office spaces, a high-end auditorium, and contemporary meeting rooms.
Smart Control in the Atrium
The Atrium, primarily used for large seminars, presentations, and events, now features an advanced AV system. "Thanks to the central, mobile control, the system is quick to start up and easy to operate. Even the lighting is integrated into this solution," says Bart Motte, IT Manager Hardware at Willy Naessens.
Innovations include:
- Flexible Image Distribution: Q-SYS Network Video Endpoints enable dynamic image distribution, adaptable to various setups and presentation needs.
- Enhanced On-Stage Connectivity: An additional on-stage video input makes it easy for speakers to share content.
- Advanced Directing Capabilities: The directing inputs and outputs have been upgraded for faster and more reliable operation during events.
- On-Stage Return Monitor: A 43-inch 4K screen provides speakers with real-time views of their content, significantly enhancing presentation comfort.
A High-End Auditorium
The auditorium, with a capacity of 120 people, is the central hub for corporate presentations and training. Thanks to integrated AV technology, remote participants can also join effortlessly. A permanent control room ensures smooth and professional operation.
Key features:
- Hybrid meetings with a central camera and integrated microphones for an optimal experience.
- Touchscreen controls in the control room for added ease of use.
- A speaker monitor, a valuable addition that was previously lacking.
"The auditorium is a tremendous asset to our headquarters. It's an enclosed space with extensive capabilities. We can easily organize a Teams call, allowing remote colleagues to follow training or presentations," emphasizes Bart Motte.
The Patio: A Hidden Gem
The patio, a spectacular indoor garden connecting the two wings, plays a central role in receptions and informal gatherings. An integrated audio solution provides subtle background music. The speakers are discreetly incorporated into the plant islands.
The patio can be individually controlled via a user-friendly touchscreen, but central control via an iPad is also possible during events.
Invisible Audio
A QSC audio integration was chosen for the entire building, with speakers discreetly concealed above the cooling ceilings. While the system is not currently used for internal communications or emergency notifications, it offers this capability for the future.
Remote Management with Q-SYS Reflect
Thanks to the network-based Q-SYS Reflect solution, all AV systems can be remotely managed and maintained. This offers benefits such as:
- Rapid interventions without physical presence.
- Cloud connectivity for efficient monitoring and maintenance.
- Scalability for future expansions.
A concrete example is the rapid addition of a microphone in the dining area, resolved remotely within five minutes.
Collaboration with Play AV
Willy Naessens has collaborated with Play AV for over a decade. Despite this long-standing relationship, a thorough comparison is made with other providers for each new project. Play AV once again offered the best price-quality ratio. "We've known Play AV for a long time and have completed many projects together. But that's not a free pass. We always compare different partners. In this project, Play AV had the best price offer, and we know their expertise," says Bart Motte.
