The new SAP headquarters
A model for today's office experience
Belgian-Luxembourg-based SAP today employs 330 people and provides support and management services for e-business, financial, logistics and human resources processes. Because of their move to new headquarters in Machelen, an innovative office concept was developed, focused on modern flexibility. With an emphasis on customer orientation and employee well-being, audiovisual components were designed and integrated. These help form the basis for a dynamic and productive working environment.
Customer experience area vs. employee area
The new office is divided into two sections: the customer experience area and the employee area. This dichotomy was deliberately chosen to provide both the customer and employee with an optimal user experience. The customer area is enveloped in SAP's signature corporate colors, while the employee area features a varied color palette to promote productivity. We had the opportunity with Play AV Brussels to equip both SAP's customer experience area and the employee area with the latest technologies.
Customer experience thanks to the experience wall
The experience for customers begins immediately upon arrival in the multi-faceted room. Here there is a warm welcome and interactive screens are provided for customer-focused content.
As you continue walking, you pass the experience wall. Here, customized content is created for the visitor, think corporate videos, showcases, and more. The goal is to give visitors a taste of the topics they will later discover in detail during deep dive sessions in one of the meeting rooms. When no specific events are taking place, the wall features upcoming events, new product releases, and other relevant information. All contribute to overall awareness around SAP.
Regarding the positioning of the interactive screens, both landscape and portrait mode were chosen. Christian Raats SAP - team member of the Experience Center BeLux gladly tells us why this was chosen: “This was a conscious choice due to the fact that some showcases are specifically designed for mobile or desktop formatsn, and it is essential to present them in an attractive way.”
Remote participants are never excluded
The zone also includes several meeting rooms designed for meetings, workshops, deep dive sessions and other client business meetings. Working with rolling furniture in this zone again provides flexibility in the layout of the space, tailored to the client's needs.
Hybrid participation is possible in all rooms. Each room is equipped for the participation of remote participants. Video conference solutions with Sennheiser ceiling microphones, Aver cameras and Logitech Rally Bars ensure excellent communication with remote participants.
The B LAB, focused on hands-on project development, used a digital flipchart to test ad hoc creations and apps, among other things. In turn, the “The Atomium” room was equipped with 9 interactive screens for deep dive sessions. A Crestron tab was provided here for custom content display. Several cameras again ensure a smooth participation of external ones.
Making the best use of roombooking
" A conscious decision was made in the customer experience area not to work with a room-booking solution. Despite the many advantages of this solution, we wanted to manage this as centrally as possible. The reservation of these rooms is done centrally via our reception desk. This keeps control over the rooms and prevents unnecessary bookings.
In the employee area, we opted for a room-booking solution. Here we even opted for an advanced formula where, for example, sensors determine the occupancy status of the meeting room.“ Christian Raats - team member of the SAP Experience Center BeLux - tells us.
The employee area was also equipped with the necessary comfort. In the internal work areas, the meeting rooms were provided with the necessary comfort for hybrid meetings. Christian likes to tell more: “Play AV Brussels made sure that all screens in the office are touchable, providing an intuitive and interactive user experience. Through internal signage, staff also stays up to date with employee-related news.”
Conclusion of SAP
From the enthusiasm of our customer SAP, we can conclude that a practical and flexible audiovisual integration was created. The new office in Machelen not only promotes efficiency and collaboration, but also creates an impressive and welcoming environment for customers and employees. A wonderful example for the contemporary office experience.
Thank you for this wonderful collaboration SAP!
